Congratulations to Francesco Marasco: Recipient of the TWHA Shawn Morgan Memorial Coach Dedication Award
The Shawn Morgan Memorial Coach Dedication Award is presented annually to a coach who exemplifies commitment, dedication, passion, and sportsmanship—the very ideals Shawn Morgan instilled during his time with Trails West from 2005-2014. In memory of Shawn, a banner hangs in the Flames Community Arenas – Gold Arena, honoring his lasting impact on the players he coached and inspired.
This year, we are proud to announce that Francesco Marasco has been awarded this honor. Francesco has been coaching the Trails West Junior C team for 15 years, bringing the same dedication to the program that he experienced as a child playing minor hockey with TWHA. His commitment to creating a family-like atmosphere where respect is paramount has left a lasting impression on his players. Many former Junior C players recall their time with Francesco as the best three seasons of their hockey careers.
Francesco and his team of AC’s are more than coaches; they are mentors who guide young adults through the challenging transition to adulthood. Their support and challenging yet nurturing environment have garnered deep gratitude from many former players.
