Casino coordinator

Overview:
The Casino Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of the casino event during the years that the Trails West Hockey Association (TWHA) receives a casino license. This vital role involves collaborating with the TWHA Board, managing volunteers, and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements set forth by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers through Sign Up Genius for various casino roles, ensuring sufficient coverage for all shifts.
  • Compliance with AGLC Regulations: Ensure all aspects of the casino event are compliant with AGLC rules and guidelines. This includes managing the paperwork, adhering to gaming laws, and maintaining all necessary records.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work with other TWHA members, casino staff, and external partners to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after the event.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with volunteers, the TWHA board, and AGLC to ensure all parties are aligned and informed throughout the process.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills to handle the complexities of casino event coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with volunteers, the TWHA team, and AGLC representatives.
  • Previous experience with the AGLC or working at a casino is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of AGLC regulations and experience working within compliance is highly desirable.

Commitment:

  • The Casino Coordinator will be required to dedicate significant time before, during, and after the casino event.
  • Flexible availability during the casino event itself, which typically lasts for two days.

The Evaluations Catering Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all catering and food service operations during player evaluations for the Trails West Hockey Association. This role involves managing food and beverage logistics, coordinating with vendors, and setting up volunteer sign-ups for catering delivery to arenas. The coordinator must have strong organizational and communication skills to ensure that all aspects of catering run smoothly during evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food and Beverage Logistics: Plan and manage the catering needs for evaluations, ensuring that food and beverages are available for evaluation volunteers.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with food vendors to arrange for the appropriate quantity and quality of food and beverages.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Set up a volunteer sign-up system using SignUp Genius to organize volunteers for food service delivery to specified arenas.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with vendors, volunteers, and the TWHA board to ensure all catering needs are met and the event runs smoothly.
  • Budget Management: Track and manage catering-related expenses within the allocated budget.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with vendors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and manage logistics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in event planning or catering is an asset.
  • Familiarity with SignUp Genius or similar volunteer coordination platforms is a plus.

Commitment:

  • Time commitment includes pre-event planning, as well as being on-site during the evaluations to oversee food service operations.
  • Availability may vary depending on the number of evaluation days.

Position Overview:

The Back to Hockey Bash Coordinator will serve as a volunteer in organizing and executing the annual 3 vs 3 hockey tournament for U7-U13 players. This exciting event takes place over Labour Day weekend and aims to offer young players a fun and competitive environment to kick off the hockey season. As a volunteer coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the event runs smoothly, overseeing team registrations, managing volunteers, and handling day-of operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning & Coordination:
    • Assist with planning and organizing the 3 vs 3 tournament logistics, including scheduling, venue setup, and team registration.
    • Ensure the event runs according to schedule, managing time effectively on the day of the tournament.
  2. Team Registration & Communication:
    • Work with TWHA Admin to establish player registration and age group classifications (U7-U13).
    • Act as a point of contact for parents, and volunteers, providing them with information about the event schedule, rules, and expectations. All communication will be done through TeamLinkt.
    • Communicate tournament rules and guidelines to all participants ahead of time.
  3. Volunteer & Staff Support:
    • Assist in recruiting and coordinating event-day volunteers, such as scorekeepers, referees, and general event staff.
    • Provide support and guidance to volunteers during the event, ensuring they are clear on their roles and duties.
  4. Tournament Operations:
    • Help manage game schedules, keeping track of scores and standings during the tournament.
    • Address any issues or delays that may arise, ensuring that the tournament stays on track.
