The KidSport City Wide Bottle Drive is back for a second year. This Saturday August 20th we will be set up at three locations around the City collecting empties to help raise funds for our program and getting deserving kids in our community back to the sports they have missed and love.
We are building off of the success from 2021 as we work to make this an annual event and our City’s Largest One Day Bottle Drive.
We will be set up at the Seton YMCA in the South East, MNP Sports Centre Downtown and WinSport at Canada Olympic Park in the West. We will be set up from 10-2 this Saturday August 20th as we look to fill our Rosenau Transportation Trucks to the brim with empties. People can drive right by our truck, unload and be on your way. Quick and easy.
We have added a fun twist this year as we will look to award one lucky drop off household with up to $1500 in sports equipment and or registration fees to help with their fall/winter sports costs. An exciting way to promote the day as well as help a lucky family with their return to sports this fall.
To give some perspective on how this will help, we have already distributed over $749,000 in sport registration fees in 2022 to support 2,557 low income kids and their access to sport here in our community. On top of this we have provided no cost equipment to 544 kids through our Calgary Flames Sports Bank and another, 2261 kids through group equipment programs we have supported.
