Tim Hortons Western Canada Pond Hockey Announces Charities

Calgary, AB – Since 2018 the Tim Hortons Western Canada Pond Hockey Championships have been donating back to local and surrounding charities

“We are so honored to announce this years recipients for the 2022 Pond Hockey Championships.” stated Alex Halat, Founder and Director of the event. “We have been blessed to have sold out each and every year to capacity and with selling out we are able to this year help 4 local charities.”

Camp Chestermere, Synergy, Chestermere Food Bank and the Chestermere Women Crises Society are all beneficiaries. Participants, spectators and the community are encouraged to bring non perishable food items or toiletries (brush, toothpaste, comb, feminine hygiene products) to be donated to the Chestermere Food Bank and for the Chestermere Women Crises Society.

“The Chestermere Women’s Crisis Society (CWCS) is a community based non-profit society, organized to collaborate and liaise with existing resources to provide emergency shelter, counselling services, legal resources, clothing and food security to vulnerable women in the community. These are women who may be experiencing domestic abuse or require assistance with providing basic needs for themselves and their children. Being one of the recipients for the Tim Hortons Western Canada Pond Hockey Championships is sure to bring awareness to CWCS along with some much needed items that we are in desperate need of.” Spoke Morgan Matheson, CEO of the CWCS.

The Tim Hortons Pond Hockey Championships, started in 2018, is played every year December 27-29 (with the exception of 2021) on Chestermere Lake. The event always raises money for charitable organizations both locally and surrounding area.
